A purple hairstreak was seen at the Barden watchpoint on the trees in the keepers garden.

Re: Median Wasp - Dolichovespula media

Some doubt now as to it's identity.....could be a similar species called Dolichovespula sylvestris aka Tree Wasp

Dragonflies

A few images of Dragonflies taken yesterday at a site within the BOG area. ( Known to most members , but E mail me if want location) at stephen.lilley@virgin.net

From the top down they are:-

Azure Damselfly, Coenagrion puella. I posted a similar picture a few weeks ago of the Common Blue Damselfly, the U shaped mark behind the body identifies this species, I think, I'm no expert.

Southern Hawker, Aeshna cyanea (female), Large Red Damselfly, Pyrrhosoma nymphula,

Four Spotted Chaser, Libellula quadrimaculata, and the Broad Bodied Chaser (male), Libellula depressa.
