Spectacular images Ian. Thanks to Brian Vickers and yourself , I have been able to visit Spain and India, photographically speaking.

Many thanks for sharing Ian, and I look forward to seeing more.

Regards.

Thanks for your kind comments Graham. It was essentially a 'beach holiday' but obviously grabbing any opportunities for other stuff when it arose. This was our first visit to South Goa having been to North Goa in 2004 and 2007. Virtually all birding info for Goa is centred on North Goa and so everything we saw had to be self found including locations - much more rewarding. We paid a visit to Cotigao Wildlife Reserve and the insect life was prolific however the photo opportunities very limited due to poor light and not really knowing what we could get too close to. The centipede was easy being about 10 inches long and as thick as my thumb however its not one you would want to get a bite from! I was photographing a lizard on a leaf at about 5ft distance when I noted a tiny movement in my peripheral vision only to find the green vine snake between me and the lizard!
I can highly recommend South Goa for a relatively inexpensive photo trip.
