Slavonian Grebe at Knotford Nook taken yesterday morning by Nigel Jones. This bird was still on the riverside fishing pool at least until 10:45 this morning giving good views.

Waxies still around

Popped up to Beck lane this afternoon - Just before dusk there was 60+ Waxwings all over the place, coming down to the apples in groups of 20 or so.


Early morning would be best for viewing them as the sun would not be directly behind them, but if you fancy an arty silhouette shot, then just before dusk is best.

 

 

By the looks of it "them apples" should keep the Waxies happy for another week.

Waxwing year ?

Thanks to Fred for giving the location of the Waxwings in Keighley today. I called up to Keighley Golf Club this afternoon, about the same number of birds that Fred saw were in evidence, feeding on Mountain Ash berries.
