I've just managed to get into this lot, but your skipper butterfly is a female Large Skipper (Ochlodes faunus). The dark streak on the mid-forewing is known as a sex brand and it is only found on males. Silver-spotted Skipper is far scarcer & has a very restricted distribution in Britain, being confined to about 20warm calcareous downlands in southern England. The nearest I know of are in the Chilterns. Its flight period is later too - usually during the last three weeks of August & the first week of September.
