Hi Tom and Mark, This looks like another Twin spot Carpet to me? but better marked and more buff this time. Photo taken with flash at dusk which could be responsible for the colour rendering.

According to my new source of literature! The difference in ground shade may be due to male (greyish) and female (brownish)but this individual might not be light enough for female?. Would be interested to know what the experts think.

Dave,
I would say male. The description in my book says "whitish in generally smaller female". The Ssp hethlandica is "duller and browner".
Cheers Tom,
I will have another look the next evening I go. I did see some paler smaller moths in the same area but thought they were a different species.
